Do I need my own webspace? No, included with Vision Online is your own webhosting account meaning that you can host everything in a single location and avoid paying for additional webhosting. With this account you may host your own webpages to supplement your Online site along with any images that will be used for your rental items on your Online site. If you have configured a domain to use with your Vision Online account (see below) you may also configure POP3 mailbox accounts on your domain (e.g. info@yourstore.com). However, if you would prefer to use your own hosting for your domain/site you may do so and simply link to your Vision Online site from your own website. Note: the webhosting account features a standard, easy to user interface and the Vision Online subscription does not therefore include technical support for the webhosting account. Can I use my own domain name e.g. www.mystore.com? Yes! Assuming that you have already registered your domain (or intend to register an available domain) with a suitable registrar (e.g. register.com) you may configure the name servers to point to your Vision Online site so that your customers can arrive directly to and view your site under your domain. Can I host the Online pages and database on my own choice of web server? With purchase of a standard Online package the pages that form Online and the Online database must be hosted on the Vision Online server and cannot be self-hosted. It is however possible to purchase a different package which allows you to host the database and files on your own server - please get in contact for further information and pricing details if you are interested in this option. Whilst with the standard Online package the Online pages must be stored on the Vision Online server, you can also maintain your own additional pages and integrate these with your Online site so that your customers view your own pages as an integrated site under the same domain name. If you are using the Vision Online webhosting then you can simply add new pages to your site integrating links to your Vision Online site as part of these pages. If you are hosting your domain/webpages on an independent server then you can display the Online pages within pages of your own site (either in a frame or by using server side includes). This method of working is excellently demonstrated in the Showcase Video site seen at http://www.showcase.com.cy Can certain items be restricted for viewing by certain customers only? Yes - certain items (e.g. adult titles) may be marked as restricted so that they may only be viewed by customers who have been granted a special privilege. These items will not appear in search results or when browsing genres unless a customer is logged into Online and their account has been configured with this privilege. Can my Online site be in a language other than English? As part of your Online basic setup all text used in Online can be made to appear in the language of your choice based on a translation that you provide. Note: the implimentation of the translation has an additional cost. Is it possible to change the design of my Online site? Yes - virtually all aspects of the Online site may be changed as a customization. As your Online site is a unique set of pages virtually any change is possible from a simple alteration of colors and fonts to a complete re-design of the entire site layout. Please get in contact for a quote for implimenting the changes that are required. Can I control the genres/stock categories shown on the left hand menu or are these fixed? These are configured from the Online Control Panel within Video Vision Plus therefore you have full control over the genres/stock categories that are displayed. What type of database will power my Online site? All Vision Online sites are backed up with the speed and reliability of a SQL Server database. Can I sell items on my Online site? Yes - both rental items which have been listed as for sale and retail items that have been entered as products in Video Vision Plus can be sold using Online.
